Seek the Father in the storm
Psalms 16:7-11 TPT
7 The way you counsel and correct me makes me praise you more, for your whispers in the night give me wisdom, showing me what to do next. 8 Because you are close to me and always available, my confidence will never be shaken, for I experience your wrap-around presence every moment. 9 My heart and soul explode with joy—full of glory! Even my body will rest confident and secure. 10 For You will not abandon me to the realm of death, nor will you allow your Holy One to experience corruption. 11 For you bring me a continual revelation of resurrection life, the path to the bliss that brings me face-to-face with you.
What perfect timing to hear those words. God is close to us and always available. His presence is with us in every moment. Sometimes, however, it is easy to forget that God is close, especially when fear and panic seem to surround us. It’s easy to get frozen with fear. It’s easy to be consumed by it, to let it take hold of you. In that moment is when we need to stop and move into the secret place. When we feel like we are drowning is the exact moment we need air. God wants to help us breathe, to provide peace, and to just be close to us. Seek the Father's face, get to a quiet space and just talk to him. Lay out your heart and wait. Listen to what he speaks to you.
He will never fail to meet with us. He is always waiting and inviting us into the secret place all the time, not just in times of uncertainty. But, He will never turn us away whether we frequent the secret place or if we come running in when we are afraid. He is always there and He promises never to leave us! When we quiet ourselves and our surroundings we can hear Him more clearly. When we listen we can hear his reminders. Reminders of love, of past victories, of protection of His promises to us. His promises to never leave us or forsake us.
So today . . . know that you have an advocate who loves You and has planned and fought for you since before the foundations of this world!
