What Do You See?

Papa: Do you see the fire?

Me: Yes Papa.

Him: Are you back on your stool?

Me: Yes Papa.

Him: Can you feel the quilt around you?

Me: Yes, I do . . . I feel warm and safe!

Him: . . . And I’ve given you something to drink? (Me: Yes) . . . and do you see Me at the fire stoking the coals?

Me: I do Papa . . .

Him: He smiles . . . good!

Me (I can feel His anticipation): Ok, I’ll play . . . What’s in the cup?

Him:  Hmmm (says He), now that is a question isn’t it. What do you see in the cup?

Me: Looking down and studying the cup . . . Steamy liquid, but stuff floating in it. It looks like creamy delicious hot chocolate, but there are actual food chunks in it . . . Uh, the food chunks don’t seem appetizing Papa?

Him: He smiles . . . Life will flow with My joy and peace as you so desperately desire. But in that joy are going to be some chunks of stuff you will feel is foreign to joy and peace and you will want to avoid them . . . He pauses (Yes, you are seeing aren’t you . . . He muses out loud [He smiles] . . . But if you keep those things in the cup they will become saturated with My joy and peace. And it will be as if you are drinking a steamy cup of creamy hot coco . . . even with the chunks.

Him: Capiche?

Me: Ha (I smile) . . . I love the “Capiche!”

Him: Now, you try . . .

Me: Ok .. . My life is like this cup and Your love and joy and peace is as creamy hot coco. But in this coco are things that will seem like they do not fit, but are in fact good for me. Things that will scare me, things that will hurt my heart. But, You are saying that rather than remove them or poo poo them, I’m to embrace them and let them become saturated with You. Then once saturated with your joy and peace those "chunks" will taste like creamy hot coco too . . . Your joy and peace in me will transform them from foreign to part of the mix . . . a cup of creamy hot coco!

Me: Papa . . .?

Him: Yes, My Dear Heart?

Me: You are amazing! :)

Him: Thank you!

Him: Dear Heart . . .?

Me: Yes Papa?

Him: You are amazing!

Me: Tears
