Books by Survivors
Throughout this blog, we've mentioned just how important it is to listen to survivors of human trafficking. They are the experts of their own experiences, and their voices are the most important in this global conversation. Not to mention they are the owners of their own stories. When a survivor comes forward and wants to share their experience, they deserve to be heard and respected. So today, we would like to share some books written by survivors! Check out these books to hear about these survivors' experiences straight from them, and support them in their future.
Frog in a Well: Turning Obstacles into Opportunities by Harold D'Souza
The Slave Across the Street by Theresa Flores
Suicide and Sex Work: Finding God in a Godless World by Hope Doe
Ria's Story: From Ashes to Beauty by Ria Story
Nobody's Girl by Barbara Amaya
Blank Page: Stories of Triumph from Human Trafficking Survivors by Rosi Orozco and Rita Maria Hernandez
This, of course, is just a small example of the stories survivors have shared. There are many more out there, each with their own story of incredible strength and resilience. Please take some time to read them and support these amazing people.
