Coalition Podcast: Katherine Chon

As we here at Timbelo learn more about anti-human trafficking work, two things become very apparent. Firstly, trafficking does not happen in a vacuum. There are many systems and factors at play that all contribute to someone's vulnerability to human trafficking. Very rarely is it ever simply the fault of a single person. In fact, there is generational trauma, oppression, and inequities that all contribute to the human trafficking situations we see today. Secondly, we continue to learn that just as many factors feed into human trafficking, solving this issue will require a diverse group of problem solvers. Everybody has something to contribute, and joining hands and combining efforts is necessary if we are going to stand for every human being's freedom. In this month's featured episode of the Ending Human Trafficking Podcast, Katherine Chon discusses how her organization, the Office for Trafficking in Persons (OTIP), grapples with these truths and works to bring about the end of all types of human trafficking.
