Destiny Rescue

In her book, "Kisses from Katie," missionary Katie Davis Majors tells readers that sometimes her work feels like trying to empty the ocean with an eye-dropper. When you look around at how much work there is to do, how many problems there are to fix, it can certainly feel overwhelming, and the fight of ending human trafficking is no exception to this. The good news is, no matter how discouraged one might feel, progress is being made. There are people who are being rescued, who are being loved, and who are experiencing healing.

Destiny Rescue is one of the many international organizations that is helping to fight human trafficking and rescue those who have been exploited by others. They do this not only by removing people from harmful situations but also by giving them vocational training so that they can continue to live safe, healthy lives after they leave Destiny Rescue itself. One such program teaches girls how to work in salons. Towards the end of 2019, 24 girls graduated from the program and are now ready to start careers! One of the graduates didn't even know how to read before she came to Destiny Rescue, and now she can read, write, and has employable skills to empower her future.
