Spotlight | Bethany Archer
This month's human trafficking abolitionist is Bethany Archer! Archer is the founder of 31:25 Ministries, named for the verse found in Proverbs 31:25, which states, "She is clothed with strength and dignity, she laughs without fear of the future." She told us that she and a partner in ministry clung to that verse while starting their ministry because those are all things that they wanted to give to survivors of human trafficking; strength, dignity, joy, and security. Archer's passion for human trafficking survivors was sparked in 2017 when she was doing mission work in the Philippines. While there, she worked with a ministry called "Wipe Every Tear," where her job was literally to go into clubs, bars, etc., and help women who were being trafficked there. "It kind of smacked me in the face," she said. Trafficking was something she hadn't ever really come in contact with before then, but it changed her life forever. After returning home to the States, she sprang into action by volunteering at Weightless Anchor and later started the arduous process of making 31:25 Ministries a reality. On top of managing a start-up non-profit, Bethany works with Fidelity financial. Currently, 31:25 raises money to help local organizations like "Weightless Anchor" and international organizations like "Wipe Every Tear." Eventually, Bethany's dream is to have a safe house for women escaping human trafficking. Thank you, Bethany, for the passion and willingness you bring to the anti-human trafficking field!
