Survivor Story | Megan Lundstrom

Every parent wants to live a life their child can be proud of. They want to be good role models, protect their children, and give them a wonderful life. Most parents are also willing to do whatever it takes to make that dream come true.

Megan Lundstrom is one of those parents. She grew up "with fresh-baked cookies awaiting her return from soccer practice or orchestra rehearsal." She earned great grades and even earned a college scholarship. When she turned 18, she got pregnant by her boyfriend and began dreaming of a lovely domestic life. After her second child, however, their relationship fell apart and she moved with her children to start a new life. Although she found a job, she was struggling to make ends meet. A friend told her about a website called Seeking Arrangement, which is used for "sugaring," where a person can exchange companionship for many things from an expensive dinner to large sums of money. Unfortunately, that "companionship" usually takes the form of sex.

This lead her down a path of empty promises of love and a better future which only turned into abuse and sexual exploitation. After years in "the life" and several arrests, she finally decided she'd had enough. She found a job, got help for her PTSD, and at age 29 got a scholarship to go to college! Her story doesn't end there, however. Click here to read more about her story and see how she continues to make a difference today.
