Traffickers Victimizing Haitians

The country of Haiti has experienced quite a year. Between political unrest and natural disasters, the country has had its share of problems. This isn't the first time Haiti has experienced such hardship, which has left around 60% of the population living under $3.30 a day. Between the already difficult circumstances and all of the recent troubles, people have been flocking to their neighboring country, the Dominican Republic in an effort to bring some stability and hope to their families.

Of course, where there are people in trouble, there are traffickers willing to take advantage of them. Recently, Destiny Rescue agents saved 31 Haitians from labor trafficking in the Dominican Republic. Three of those survivors were children. Cases of sexual assault and sex trafficking were also common in Dominican Republic this year according to Destiny Rescue agent, Jacob. He and his team are working tirelessly to help those who are stuck in this difficult situations. To read more, check out Destiny Rescue's blog.
