One of the aspects of human trafficking that make it incredibly difficult to combat is that it is relatively invisible. Unless you're actually looking for it and are knowledgeable about the signs of trafficking, it can easily be overlooked. That's why there are agencies everywhere, in the U.S. and internationally, that are dedicated to seeking out the places where trafficking is occurring, undetected, so that they can stop it!

This month's success story comes from Agape International Missions (AIM), a Cambodia based organization that is all about rescuing and restoring people who are being trafficked.

In June, AIM SWAT and Phnom Penh officers busted a brothel that was posing as a restaurant and massage parlor in Cambodia's Kandal province. Five survivors were rescued, at least two of whom were minors, as well as one suspected trafficker! The establishment was shut down by local authorities, and the suspected trafficker has been charged with child sex trafficking and will remain imprisoned until his trial. Three of the survivors have been transferred to aftercare shelters owned by one of Agape's partner organizations, and two were transferred to Agape's Restoration Home in Svay Pak, Cambodia.
